Undergraduate New Student Checklist

• Send your updated transcripts to the Admissions office (if applicable).

Nine Months Before Classes Begin

• File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you haven’t already.

Six Months Before Classes Begin

• Fill out and submit your housing contract (if applicable).

Three Months Before Classes Begin

• Accept financial aid awards.

One Month Before Classes Begin

• Pre-order your textbooks through the Clarkson College Bookstore.
• Ensure all financial aid is accepted and processed, and all required paperwork is complete.

One Week Before Classes Begin

• Locate your classroom(s). Room numbers will be listed on your student schedule available in Self-Service.
• Complete the online Canvas tutorial, available in Canvas and accessible from your Office 365 App Launcher.
• View your tuition billing statement on Self-Service.
• Review your payment plan options on the Student Accounts page.
• Attend New Student Orientation on the Friday prior to the start of the semester.

First Week of Classes

• Attend Welcome Week events on campus.

Third Week of Classes

• Submit your tuition payment by the third week of the semester.

Items Completed During Advising & Registration Day

• Sign your Statement of Financial Responsibility to Student Accounts.
• Take your student ID badge photo.
• Become familiar with health and safety requirements and deadlines.
• Watch your College student email account for your academic program package code to place orders for health and safety requirements through CastleBranch.

Items Completed at New Student Orientation

• Obtain your student ID badge and key card.
• Purchase a student parking pass.
• Pick up your pre-ordered textbooks or purchase your books on campus.
